What is a 321 stainless steel
plate?
321 stainless steel plates have high chromium and nickel content. They offer
excellent resistance to oxidation and corrosion, making them ideal for use in highly
corrosive environments. Compared to regular stainless steel, SS321 plates are more
resistant to chlorine-induced stress corrosion cracking (SSC) and pitting corrosion.
The grade of alloy used in the composition of 321 SS plates also makes them less
susceptible to sensitization, allowing them to be welded without losing strength or
hardness.
What are the features of SS 321/321H Plates?
The features of 321H/321 stainless steel plate include their superior tensile
strength and yield strength compared to other grades of stainless steel plate. Due
to their exceptional resistance against oxidation and corrosion at higher
temperatures, they are often used in chemical processing, petrochemical and process
piping, heat exchangers, boilers, and condensers.
What are the advantages of 321H/321 stainless steel plate?
The advantages of 321H/321 stainless steel plates include their high resistance to
oxidation at higher temperatures, making them ideal for use in corrosive
environments. They also have excellent weldability when compared to other stainless
steel alloys. Furthermore, the chromium content found in 321H/321 stainless steel
plates helps prevent sensitization during welding operations which can lead to
embrittlement of the welded joint. Their superior strength and corrosion resistance
properties make 321H/321 stainless steel plate’s ideal for various industries,
including aerospace engineering, food processing, and medical equipment
manufacturing.
